The governor of Oyo State Senator Abiola Ajimobi has cleared the air on his speculated support for any of the gubernatorial aspirants of the APC in the next governorship primary slated for Sunday 30th September 2018, in a chat with the news men in Ibadan Senator Ajimobi said that he has no anointed candidate among the aspirants jostling for the party ticket.
He said that all aspirants for the ticket are eminently qualified to succeed him and justified the APC governors forum preference for indirect primary.

He further emphasis that he is not God, can not anoint a candidate and does not have any anointed candidate.
Meanwhile the governor has finally declared his interest to contest for the Oyo South senatorial seat under the All Progressive Congress (APC) and has been cleared the the party’s screening committee, this declaration has put to rest the speculations about  his interest in contesting for the seat as it was generally believed that the current Senator representing Oyo South senatorial district Sen  Adesoji Akanbi has been anointed by President Muhammad Buhari for not decamping along other senators at the senate chamber.
It will be recalled that Senator Akanbi denied his decampment and reaffirmed his commitment and loyalty to the President and the party in general, with this new development indication has emerged that the incumbent Senator has unofficially decamped the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to slug it out the governor during the next general election in 2019. Among the incumbent governors screened for the senate seats were Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Tanko Al-makura (Nasarawa) and Rochas Okorocha (Imo).
